Sonora firefighters quickly extinguished a vegetation fire behind residences on North Stewart Street Monday afternoon just before 3 p.m.
The fire closed the street at East Cowan Street for about half an hour as fire crews mopped up and officials investigated the cause. No damage to the homes from the small blaze.
