California has received a $31,000 federal grant to help farmers and ranchers conserve water in parched areas.
The funds should help them reduce soil erosion, use less water and protect grazing land.
Funds from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program have been allocated to states most severely impacted by the drought.
The state also received seven million dollars to help restore waterways impacted by natural disasters.
