Tuolumne County law enforcement agencies have a new tool they hope will make a dent in the number of unsolved crimes in the area. Sonora Police Detective Kelly Bressell says the Crime Hotline will give people a chance to anonymously share information they may have been afraid to disclose in the past. Volunteers answer phones at the Jamestown Sheriff´s Community Services Office and pass information along to Police, Sheriff´s Deputies or Highway Patrol officers.
Education Administrator Dan White says the “ED-Law” partnership pulled several resources together to develop the system over the past year. The Sonora Area Foundation, Wal-Mart, and several individuals contributed efforts to make the project work. If you have information on an old crime and would like to share it, call 984-1911. You´ll remain anonymous.
