An Architect Of Johnson´s “War On Poverty” Dies

One of the architects of President Lyndon Johnson´s “War on Poverty” has died in Palo Alto after a battle against cancer. William Capron of Mountain View was 82. The former Stanford economics faculty member served in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. In 1964 President Johnson named Capron to oversee the domestic aspects of the federal budget.
