A motorcycle rider attempting to pass a pick-up truck on Jamestown Road ended up in a Modesto Hospital yesterday.
The California Highway Patrol reports 45 year-old Billy Joe Crawford Jr., of Sonora, was following a pick-up truck on Jamestown Road. When the pick-up slowed and signaled to make a left turn, officers say Crawford attempted to pass, striking the pick-up broadside.
Crawford was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with leg injures. The driver of the truck, Dennis James of Sonora, was unhurt in the crash.
