Regardless of whether the Anaheim Angels or San Francisco Giants win tonight´s seventh and deciding game of the World Series, the outcome will be a first-ever. The Angels have never won a World Series in 42 years of existence, and didn´t even qualify for a World Series before this month. Since the Giants move to San Francisco in 1958, the team hasn´t won the baseball championship.
The last Giant World Series victory came in 1954 when they were in New York. And the series may be forever remembered for the appearance of a three-and-a-half-year-old boy at home plate. That was the batboy son of Giant manager Dusty Baker who had to be swept out of the way as a Giant runner approached home with the Giants´ winning run in Game Five.
