Voters are favoring two school-related measures on Tuesday´s ballot, but a final Field Poll shows they´re opposing Election Day voter registration. Majorities favor Proposition 47, which would borrow more than $12 billion for education, and Proposition 49, which would allocate as much as $550 million in existing money to before, and after school programs.
Proposition 52, which would let voters register on Election Day, was favored by 40 percent and opposed by 45 percent. However, the Public Policy Institute found 52 percent in favor last month.
Proposition 50, which would borrow more than $3 billion for water projects, gained support since September. But the Field Poll found it still is falling short of the majority needed for passage.
