The interim director of the Governor´s Office of Criminal Justice Planning is resigning over links to an investigation of alleged corruption in San Joaquin County.
N. Allen Sawyer was a partner in a failed Port of Stockton power plant deal with San Joaquin County Sheriff Baxter Dunn and a former sheriff´s deputy and water board member.
Sawyer has not been charged, and denies knowing anything about allegations against others in an FBI search warrant affidavit.
The FBI alleges the three hoped to earn millions of dollars by arranging for a power plant to be built at the port at the height of last year´s energy crisis.
