The California Golden Bears will still be sidelined during bowl season this year, but the NCAA today did restore nine scholarships it had previously revoked.
The University of California, Berkeley, had appealed the NCAA´s June ruling, which came following an investigation into academic fraud that included false credits awarded to two athletes.
The infractions occurred in 1999 during former coach Tom Holmoe´s tenure.
Despite Cal´s 6-5 record this year, the Golden Bears´ final game will be Saturday against Stanford.
