Tuolumne County employees will now have a financial incentive to find ways to save the county money.
At this morning´s meeting, county supervisors approved a program that will recognize and reward employees who come up with better ways to do things.
The awards will be up to $5,000 for ideas that save the county $100,000 or more.
County Administrator C. Brent Wallace told the board he suggested a similar program in Inyo County, and the first suggestion that came in saved the county $492,000 a year.
