Worldwide semiconductor sales increased to $12.5 billion in October. That represents a 1.8-percent jump from September and a 20-percent rise from a year earlier.
The Semiconductor Industry Association says the October sales figures mark the third straight quarter of rising sales for an industry that is slowly recovering from the high-tech downturn of recent years.
The trade group says a healthy recovery for the sector continues into the current quarter.
