Calaveras County supervisors approved yesterday a rezoning request to allow a major expansion of homes east of Murphys.
They say the benefits of an additional 313 single family homes and 10 recreational lots near the Forest Meadows subdivision out weighs any negative impacts such as traffic and air pollution.
