Two buses were burned last night at the WATCH program parking lot on Village Drive off Highway 108 in east Sonora.
Dean Fretas with WATCH says the fire was discovered around 2 a.m. this morning. Law enforcement officials suspect arson.
The 20-passenger buses are used daily by the WATCH program to transport handicapped persons to and from the programs and work sites in the county.
Loss is estimated to be about $100,000. One bus was brand new and just acquired by WATCH.
The handicapped will have to be transported by private car and mini vans to get them to the Watch program activities this morning.
