A well-known Calaveras County judge and short-order cook has died.
Judge Howard W. Blewett was a San Andreas resident for nearly 50 years. He was best known for cooking up a storm at the old Main Street Grill and dishing out judgments as a member of the justice court in town until 1976.
He died Saturday in Oakley. He was 96.
