A Tuolumne County fire fighter was shocked Saturday after fire units responded to the report of a tree fallen into a power pole and a resulting fire.

County Fire Marshal Kary Hubbard says the firefighter was on rain-soaked pavement during the call in a driving rainstorm on North Airport Road in Columbia.

“He suffered residual shock and complained of tingling in his hands,” she said this morning.

The unidentified firefighter was treated at Tuolumne General Hospital and later released.
