A 20 year old Employee at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite Valley died yesterday in a hiking accident on
Yosemite Falls Trail.
Park Service officials say Timothy M. Shirk of Tahoe City was at the base of upper Yosemite Fall with a companion, when he
stumbled and fell about 40 feet. He was pronounced dead of head injuries at about 1:30 yesterday afternoon.
Shirk had been employed as a
housekeeper at the resort for about a month.
