Tuolumne County deputies are investigating a scam that may be making the rounds in the area. An elderly
Sonora couple was approached by a man pretending to be a detective from San Diego. The individual reportedly claimed they owed 10-thousand dollars on an
expired loan. The Sonora residents say they never banked in San Diego and never had any loans there.
Deputies say the man gave the couple a bogus
badge number.
