Firefighters are looking for the cause of a 40 plus acre wildfire that happened in northwest Calaveras
County today. Crews were called to Highway 26 near Valley Springs not too far from the San Joaquin County border and discovered the fire just before 8am.
Crews needed about a half hour to get it contained.
No buildings were damaged and no injuries reported in the fire.
