A brief scare for a CDF air attack pilot this weekend. Crews were fighting a 2 acre blaze in Calaveras
County near Arnold, when a bird glanced off the fixed wing plane´s window. The pilot continued on to the fire, with no serious damage to the
plane.
Crews needed an hour or so to contain the fire in rough terrain. A little later, at about 5:30 a small grass fire broke out at the top of Priest Grade.
It was out within an hour and a half. Causes of both fires are being investigated.
