A Berkeley rescue center has released five brown pelicans back into the wild after treating them for injuries
caused by humans.
The birds were injured by fish hooks or fishing lines as they hunted for food. The International Bird Rescue Research Center in
Berkeley took the birds in to treat and rehabilitate them.
The organization says the birds all are about a year old and are able to care for
themselves.
