An earthquake shook the area between Quincy and Portola in remote Plumas County at 1:18 this
afternoon.
Pat Jorgenson of the U-S Geological Survey in Menlo Park said the quake had a magnitude of five-point-five. The quake was felt as far
away as Reno, Sacramento, and the Mother Lode.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
