Mother Lode Arts organizatons are going to have a tough time securing the funds they hope for in the near
future. Supervisor Laurie Sylwester is hoping to bolster the funding shortage with a proposed tax increase for RV Parks and caground users. That issue is still in
debate.
The County Board of Supervisors decided at their meeting this week not to pursue an increase in the county “bed tax”. The additional funding
would have offset the shortfall expected in the portion of the county budget slated to go to the local arts commission.
