An erratic fire that has burned for nearly two days and consumed 8,300 acres is no longer a major threat to
archaeological sites, homes and wild animals, fire officials say.
The fire erupted Thursday and is expected to be fully contained by tomorrow evening.
The fire burning along the California-Nevada border was 20 percent contained this morning. It was started by a lightning storm.
