Crews Back at Highway 49 Fire

Mariposa County crews will be back at a 150 acre fire along highway 49 this morning, after battling most
of the afternoon yesterday to contain it. The blaze broke out just before noon about a mile south of Coulterville.

At one time some 600 firefighters were
on the job. Eight air tankers, 7 helicopters and crews from CDF and the U-S Forest Service assisted. Mariposa fire officials say there was no threat to
buildings, and no injuries were reported.
