A suspected bank robber has surrendered to police on Interstate 5, putting an end to a standoff that closed
the freeway and backed up traffic for miles.
Police took the suspect into custody just after 3 p-m Friday, two hours after police first tried to arrest a
suspect dubbed the “two-dollar bandit´´ by the F-B-I.
The F-B-I says the incident began when Carlsbad police tried to stop the suspect outside a
Bank of America branch.
