Cell phones are getting popular with area thieves. One is reported stolen from the carport of a Sonora
home. It happened overnight Sunday in the 11 thousand block of Highway 49.
Tuolumne County deputies are also investigating the theft of a cell phone
from a Cedar Road office in Sonora, and Sonora Police were told one was taken from a woman on South Washington Street shortly before 8:30 last
night.
Police are also investigating some damage done to a car parked in the Wal Mart parking lot yesterday afternoon. It appears to have happened
during a failed attempt to burglarize the vehicle.
