California´s largest forest blaze of nearly 12-thousand-acres is nine days old, in two national forests west of
Lake Tahoe. The Star fire was reported 45 percent contained today.
Efforts to quell the Star Fire in steep terrain, with thick smoke, have caused minor
injuries for 13 firefighters.
