The long hot summer has Tuolumne Utility District crews busy this week. Rusty sediment from the upper
end of the water system has been making its way into the faucets of several homes. According to TUD officials this is normal, just not in October. The sediments
are showing up early this year because of unusually high water use.
Officials stress the water is safe. The utility is considering changing its policy to
flushing the system twice a year.
