Governor Gray Davis has signed two bills aimed at keeping consumers´ peace from being broken by
telemarketers. One will outlaw the use by telemarketers of automated dialers that hang up before the call is answered.
The other will create a state-
operated “do not call´´ list of telephone customers who don´t want unsolicited sales calls.
