The state Fish and Game Commission has adopted a regulation limiting the annual harvest of squid off the
coast of California to 125,000 tons.
While the squid population is healthy right now, the commission took the step to make sure it doesn´t go the way
of the sardine in the Monterey Bay. There, sardines were overfished and the industry collapsed.
