Governor Gray Davis is racing toward a midnight bill-signing deadline with 150 bills still on his desk.
Among those signed today are 13 anti-crime bills, including a crackdown on adults who leave young children alone in a car.
Other big decisions still
waiting: safety training for handgun buyers, more rights for gay and lesbian partners, and bigger checks for people hurt on the job.
