In remarks prepared for delivery, Governor Davis says California is as prepared as any other state to respond to disaster or chemical or biological attacks.
Davis is set to make his remarks this afternoon at the UCLA Medical Center. The governor noted that the state has been tested by everything from earthquakes to floods to fires.
Davis says California´s public health systems are experienced in protecting the public during disasters.
In his words, “Be assured that despite rumors and hoaxes, there is no credible threat of terrorism against residents or facilities at this time.´´
The governor says California´s threat preparedness includes new disease surveillance tools from the Department of Health Services.
