Eight people were injured today in an accident involving a big rig in Sonoma County.
The California Highway Patrol says a van carrying eight people plowed into the side of a big rig at about 6:00 a.m. The van´s driver was apparently trying to pass the truck as the big rig´s driver was making a left turn.
Wayne Ziese, of CHP, says the people in the van were on their way to work.
Three of the van´s occupants were critically injured. Five have major injuries. They´ve been taken to four different hospitals in Sonoma County.
Ziese says it appears the van´s driver was illegally passing through an intersection.
