Dozens of layoffs will hit the Hershey´s chocolate distribution center in Oakdale.
The Hershey Pennsylvania confectionary giant will layoff more than 1,000 workers throughout their US operations. Two plants in Pennsylvania and the distribution center in Oakdale are slated for closure in 2002.
The remaining Oakdale facilities, including the processing plant will not be affected by the job cuts. Hersheys states the moves will save the company at least 60 million dollars annually.
