It´s getting closer.
The Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena reports NASA´s Mars Odyssey spacecraft has tightened its orbit around the Red Planet, bringing it one step closer to fulfilling its mission.
The spacecraft is expected to begin over two years of scientific observations this February.
Scientists hope the spacecraft will help them learn more about the Red Planet, particularly whether water exists on the planet´s surface.
