Flash Flood Watch Issued For Sierra Nevada

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening 11 PM.

An influx of monsoonal moisture will fuel thunderstorms, some with very heavy rain, during Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Slow moving thunderstorms containing heavy downpours may produce excess runoff and cause rapid water rises in a very short period of time resulting in flash flooding. Swift moving currents of water can occur in a matter of just minutes and become life threatening.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
