Columbia, CA — A new way of registering for class at Columbia College is called “X-Reg.” Though it might sound like a video game, it is an all-in-one event on campus beginning August 14th. X-Reg is short for extreme registration.
Interim College President Dr. Leslie Buckalew explains, “What we try to do here is really garner interest of new students and open up all of our services; the financial aid office, counseling office, orientation assessment, that sort of thing. You can get it all done in one day, one stop shopping.”
College staff will be on-hand to give information on special programs and financial aid. Students needing financial aid must bring their 2012 income information, or if dependents, they should bring their parents’ 2012 income information. In addition, any records of untaxed income, such as state disability or child support payments as well. Students can also find out how to access connect Columbia so they can register online, obtain grades, and get instructions on activating their student email accounts.
X-Reg will be held at the main Sonora campus on Wednesday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the last seating for assessment and orientation at 6:00 p.m. The fall semester runs from August 26 to December 14. Columbia College will be adding additional classes this fall due to an increase in state funding. Click here for more registration details.
