Sonora, CA — The fourth annual Heroes Day in the Foothills is coming up on Tuesdy August 6th.
Annie Stevenson, Director of Marketing for Delta Blood Bank of Sonora, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
AM1450 KVML, Star 92.7 FM, KKBN 93.5 FM and myMotherLode.com are once again joining forces with the Delta Blood Bank of Sonora to put on a community blood drive.
The Delta Blood Bank provides blood to 15 community hospitals and serves five counties. The Blood Bank reports that about 60 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but only five percent do. One out of every 10 hospitalized patients needs blood.
The event will be held on August 6th from 11am – 6:00pm at the Blood Bank located at 850 Sanguinetti Road. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling (209) 943-3830 ext. 218. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
As a thank you, donors will receive a commerative t-shirt, a meal, a gift and a slice of Covers Apple Pie as a thank you.
The KVML “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
