San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County is receiving a chunk of $487 million dollars allocated by Caltrans this week for safety and mobility projects across the state.
Much of the funding comes from the 2006 voter approved Proposition 1B bond. A majority of the funding is allocated for specific projects, but Calaveras County’s allocation is listed to go towards general “Planning, Programming, and Monitoring.” The Calaveras Council of Governments is receiving $54K.
Caltrans Director Malcolm Doherty says the $487 million shows California’s commitment to infrastructure improvements and claims it will help boost job growth statewide.
