SRMC’s Plans For Cancer Center

Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center could break ground on its new cancer center by the summer of 2014. The city of Sonora has issued an environmental review notice of the proposed Sonora Outpatient Pavilion on the site of the old Andy’s Hardware store. The city wants to hear from residents and agencies on the project.

Sonora Community Development Director Rachelle Kellogg says, “It’s a 63,500 square ft. building. It’s three stories. It will house the cancer center and medical office space.”

Kellogg says the plans call for breaking ground in the summer of 2014. The public review period runs until September 30th. Your written comments can be mailed to City of Sonora, 94 North Washington Street, Sonora, CA 95370. Click here to comment online.

The Planning Commission will take up the issue at its October 15th meeting. The commission will have the final say on the construction plans.
