Murphys, CA — Firefighters and Columbia Aircraft are headed to a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. The flames broke out in the 92-hundred block of Live Oak Lane near Sheep Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch. There is no size or rate of spread, but there are reports that structures may be in danger. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 4 PM: Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says 4 acre of grass is on fire and two structures are threatened. Williams does not know what types of structures are in danger. She says the rate of spread is moderate.
Update 4:20 pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained at 5 acres. The two structures that were threatened were not damaged. There is no word on what type of structures at this time.
