Update: High Wind Warning Issued For The Sierra Nevada

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the Sierra Nevada until 11 AM Wednesday.

In addition, a Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Northern San Joaquin Valley until 8 PM tonight.

In the Central Valley, winds of twenty to thirty mph will continue, with gusts up to forty-five mph.

In the Sierra Nevada, winds of twenty to forty mph are forecast, with gusts ranging from sixty to sixty-five mph.

Damaging winds could blow down trees, tree limbs and power lines. Widespread power outages are likely. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds could also blow around unsecured objects.

People in the Sierra Nevada should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use extra caution if you must drive, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
