Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors have called for a special meeting tonight with only one item on the agenda.
Last week the Board of Supervisors approved an $145K contract with a construction firm to make emergency repairs on the Ackerson Creek Crossing. Hydrologists from the Forest Service evaluated the effects of the Rim Fire on storm water runoff, and are projecting the Ackerson Creek runoff to be around three-times its normal rate at times over winter. If this occurs, there is a high probability that the storm water will wash away a stretch of Evergreen Road.
Tonight the Supervisors will vote to authorize County Administrator Craig Pedro, or his designee, the authority to make decisions necessary to ensure the project is finished as soon as possible. The meeting will begin at 6:15pm in the Board meeting room.
