Sonora, CA — The CHP has released the name of the man killed in a truck accident last Friday in the Stanislaus National Forest.
26-year-old Tyler Wilson of Manteca was driving a 1989 International truck eastbound on Cottonwood Road, approaching the Clavey River Bridge. The CHP says the truck was going in excess of 45 mph and Wilson was unable to slow the vehicle prior to a right hand turn. The vehicle went through a metal guardrail and plummeted 100 ft. off the bridge into the river canyon. Wilson was transporting materials that were going to be used as part of the BAER Team work.
The CHP notes that the vehicle will be inspected today to see if there was any type of mechanical failure.
