If you need to get out of the cold there are warming shelters open in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. In Tuolumne County, the Enrichment Center at 101 Hospital Road is open 24/7 until Wednesday at 8 am. That is behind the old Tuolumne General hospital building.
Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services Coordinator Tracie Riggs says, “It is open as a warming center during business hours from 8 am to 5 pm and then it goes into a warming shelter where people can actually sleep there from 5 pm to 8 am. There will also be food and water available.”
There is also a shelter opening at 5 pm at the Groveland Community Center at 18720 Highway 120. It will remain opened until Monday at 8 am. Riggs adds in the event of a power outage they are preparing to open additional sites.
Warming shelters will also be available beginning at 5:00 pm tonight through 5:00 pm on Saturday in Calaveras County. Calaveras County Administrative Officer Lori Norton says, “We have cots and blankets available so it a nice, safe, and warm place for people to sleep.”

Murphys: First Congregational Church 509 North Algiers (At the corner of Church St. and N. Algiers)
West Point: West Point Community Hall 22283 Highway 26 (Intersection of Hwy 26/Bald Mtn. Rd/Pine St.)
San Andreas: Community Covenant Church 261 Treat Ave.
Arnold: Moose Lodge 1965 Blagen Road
