Sonora, CA — Today for one night only, Railtown’s Engine #3 will be in Sonora to say “Thank You!” to the community. The photo opportunity will be held in front of the Tuolumne General Hospital (Hospital and Washington Streets) from 5 to 8 pm. The Sonora and Twain Harte Rotary Clubs have joined together for this unique event as a way to thank the people of Tuolumne County for stepping up to help ‘Keep Railtown Rolling’. The Sierra No. 3, will have Santa on Board with local choirs caroling, and warm beverages will be provided. The boiler of the historic locomotive was recently restored. The last operating weekend for train rides at Railtown will be December 14th & 15th.
There are three rescheduled events from last weekend are planned to take place this weekend: The AAUW Home Tour, Santa’s Gone Hawaiian and the Sierra Waldorf Elves’ Faire. The Tuolumne City Museum “Holiday Traditions” Christmas Open House was also postponed. Special features include a display of Christmas candlesticks, including some from other cultures, as well as antiques, collectibles and whimsical. Handmade Christmas ornaments by Summerville Elementary school first through fourth graders are also on display. Hours and location are in the Museum event listing here.
