The National Weather Service extended the Red Flag Warning for the Stanislaus National Forest until 11 AM this morning.
Gusty winds of twenty–five to thirty five mph will continue through late this morning over the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada, before decreasing. The winds, combined with low humidity and extremely dry fuels, is bringing critical fire weather conditions.
The minimum humidity ranges between fifteen to twenty-five percent.
Any active fires or new fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
