Update: Red Flag Warning For The Stanislaus National Forest

The Red Flag Warning issued for the Stanislaus National Forest will expire at 11 PM tonight.

Gusty west to southwest winds of twenty to thirty mph will continue at times today, with the strongest winds expected this afternoon and evening over the higher elevation ridgetops, peaks and near favorably oriented canyons.

Minimum humidity of seven to twenty percent is forecast.

The winds combined with extremely dry fuels and low humidity will lead to critical fire weather conditions. Any active fires or new fires that develop will likely spread and grow rapidly.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Have a plan ready if you are required to evacuate!
