Columbia, CA — CAL Fire and several emergency responders are on scene of an airplane accident on the runway of Columbia Airport.
Limited information is available at this time. A CAL Fire official reports that a small plane was coming in for a landing this morning, and something apparently went wrong. Thankfully, both of the occupants inside were able to safely get out of the plane. The plane did start on fire and it was quickly extinguished. Initial reports are that it is a small, twin prop, style plane.
We’ll pass along more information as it comes into the News Center. An investigation into the cause of the accident will take place throughout the day.
