Sonora, CA — Several community members came out to remember, and honor, Rick Roberts.
The former Sonora Police Department volunteer, and local auto body shop owner, was found dead on February 15th. He died of gunshot wounds at his Mono Way shop, and an investigation into his murder is ongoing.
At last night’s vigil, the Police Department provided traffic control operations near the shop, due to the limited space. A memorial service for Roberts is still being organized.
Besides his work with the Police Department, Roberts is remembered for volunteering with his church, and he was also a very well-known figure on the local demolition derby scene.
